Channel 4 (4iP)

Channel4’s Innovation for the Public (4iP) fund is an exciting revolution in digital funding in the UK. Formed as a collaboration between Channel 4 and a series of regional funding partners from around the UK, 4iP is part of Channel 4’s Next on 4 strategic blueprint, which aims to invent how publicly valuable content is conceived, funded and delivered for British audiences using new media platforms. Hatty attained 4iP funding thanks to her passion and vision for transforming caring.

 Virgin Media Pioneers

When Hatty noticed the desperate need for better online social care provision, she joined forces with Virgin Media Pioneers (a joint initiative between Virgin Media and Enterprise UK), who helped her to develop plans for iCaring. You can visit Hatty’s video  bloghere http://www.virginmediapioneers.com/members/harrietthomas for more information about how she has created this unique digital service especially for those with individual care needs across the UK.

CamdenShares

Camden Shares is about coproduction in action. It is a community network of organizations, groups and individuals, collaborating and sharing resource. Based on the principles of a time bank, Camden Shares grew out of HCCT’s experiences of time banking and is based on two premises:

• How can we use resource better and therefore create better opportunities for our users?

• The more people involved, the better the network works

CamdenShares is now a network of nearly 100 organizations in the borough, ranging from community centers to cinemas. Members ‘offer up’ resource and capacity – rooms, training, minibuses, tickets, their time – to the network in a time economy and receive back what they need. Through Camden Shares, services are opened up, gaps are filled, people get creative and bigger opportunities and better partnerships are made.
