Shared Passions

Share your passions…

Shared Passions is a pioneering social enterprise that is dedicated to attracting a greater diversity of people to work in the caring sector.

The service is passionate about drawing on creative skills and opening pathways to transferring these skills back into the community.

Where talent can be recognised and utilised to bring about innovation, inspiration, in some of the most needed areas of community support.

The online service is open to art & design people looking to work or volunteer as creative assistants in caring roles. The service is supported by higher education community care organisations looking to recruit these talents. Both services providers and creative’s can find each other by having online access to profiles and work opportunities. The concept of big society helps to encourage a new generation of art & design students –seeking to apply their skills and to work in an environment where they receive recognition for their talent and gain life-rewarding experiences – working as creative assistants, mentors, companions in caring can help provide these fulfilling roles.

Taking part in meaningful activities that nurture personal growth and develop and promote wellbeing is a must for people who receive additional support and care. Collective engagement with the Arts can have significant benefits, whether the experience involves observing, discussing or participating. Different art forms can be used to facilitate identification and meaningful self-expression; offering people the opportunity to explore, reflect on and exchange ideas. Engaging with the arts also offer opportunities to make connections between individual experiences and the world at large, giving access to personal experiences and long-term memories.  Participants in this environment learn about each other in a new context and gain fresh insight into each other’s ideas and interests.
